It was an exciting day at Gersh Autism Academy’s Queens campus as our students welcomed some very special visitors from the FDNY, NYPD, and NYC sanitation services!
From trying on firefighter gear and exploring emergency vehicles to meeting the incredible people who help keep our communities safe and running, our students had the opportunity to experience these important roles up close!
Experiences like these go beyond the classroom, creating meaningful opportunities for hands-on learning, building confidence, exploring community helpers, and becoming more familiar with the people and services they encounter in everyday life.
A huge thank you to our local firefighters, police officers, and sanitation workers for taking the time to connect with our students and make this such a memorable experience! And to our Queens team for bringing these wonderful learning opportunities to life! 🧡
